Defective Water Pipes

Many homes in East Montgomery and Pike Road have experienced water leaks in recent years due to defective PEX water pipes manufactured by the Canadian company, BOW. The resulting damage costs homeowners thousands of dollars to repair. Most of our clients have already suffered multiple leaks in their homes. These defective pipes are wrongfully breaking down, so the damage only gets worse with time.

Jemison & Mendelsohn has teamed with up with Aughtman Law Firm to fight the manufacturer of these defective pipes and obtain compensation for affected homeowners.

So far, neighborhoods with documented damage due to defective BOW PEX pipes include:

  • Woodland Creek
  • Hampstead
  • Deer Creek
  • Lockshire
  • StoneyBrooke
  • Park Lake
  • New Park
  • Oaks at Sturbridge
  • Tuscany Manor

What are PEX Pipes?

Over the last two decades, a growing number of builders of new homes switched from copper and PVC plumbing pipes to cross-linked polyethylene tubing called PEX. Unlike copper and PVC, the PEX tubing is flexible and can be more easily installed. The cost and labor associated PEX tubing was intended to be more affordable, but unfortunately, due to defects in the design and manufacture of this PEX tubing, the tubes often prematurely rupture and leak causing major damage to homes.
