Over the last ten years, the firm has obtained verdicts, judgments, and settlements in excess of $125,000,000.00. Here is a brief summary of some of the cases we have handled:

$16 million recovery - Wrongful death
Two people were killed when load came off tractor trailer.

$15 million verdict - Products liability case against auto manufacturer The death of a child occurred in a collision as a result of a defective computer chip in the vehicle causing the vehicle to stall.

$6 million recovery - Products liability case against auto manufacturer

$5.2 million wrongful death settlement. 18-wheel truck driver making a left hand turn into a parking lot failed to yield to the plaintiff's husband who was coming in the opposite direction.

$3.5 million verdict - Outrage
A $3.5 million verdict was awarded as a result of a company not paying medical benefits required under a worker's compensation settlement.

$3,000,000 verdict - Products liability case against aircraft manufacturer
Plaintiff recovered after being seriously injured in an airplane crash. Plaintiff was blinded as a result of a faulty shoulder harness.

$3,000,000 recovery - Road drop-off case

$2.9 million recovery - Commercial trucking case
Our client died as a result of a head on collision caused by the driver of a commercial vehicle. At the time of the wreck, the driver of the truck was fatigued as a result of violating the Federal hours of service regulations.

$1.1 million settlement. Plaintiff collided into the rear of a truck that had stopped in the middle of the road at night without placing warnings.

$1,050,000 recovery - State institution neglect
$1,050,000 settlement was reached for our client, a woman without the use of her limbs and unable to call for help, who was bitten by thousands of fire ants all over her body. Investigation revealed that the Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation's employees failed to perform hourly accountability checks required by the department's policies and procedures and falsified accountability reports.

$1,000,000 recovery - Wrongful death resulting from an automobile collision

$825,000 recovery - State institution neglect
Failure to properly secure and monitor patients in a state run developmental center resulted in the beating death of a resident by another resident with a history of violence and abnormal sexual behavior. Mental health workers were found to have falsified bed check records and to have supplied the dangerous patient with keys to the cottages.

$800,000 recovery - Wrongful death resulting from state institution neglect
A mentally-retarded woman with numerous vision problems was the resident of a state run developmental center. She was not escorted back to her cottage following chapel and was missing for over fifteen minutes without any notification to facility's security personnel. The woman eventually wandered onto the highway which bordered the property where she was struck and killed by an automobile.

$750,000 policy limit recovery - Logging truck case
A log truck ran a red light killing our client. The tread on the truck's tires was also dangerously thin.

$700,000 recovery - State institution neglect
A resident of a state run developmental center was required to be provided with supervision and a shower chair with seatbelts during bathing. He was placed in the tub without a shower chair and seatbelts. He was left unattended and drowned as a result.

$700,000 recovery - Death of youth services inmate
Inmate complained of leg pains and other problems. He was not treated and later died of a pulmonary embolism after a blood clot in his leg dislodged.

$600,000 recovery - Abuse and neglect in state institution
A resident of the Lurleen B. Wallace Developmental Center in Decatur, Alabama suffered numerous injuries from abuse and neglect while living at the center, including an attack from an employee that required the surgical removal of a damaged testicle. The State of Alabama Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation settled for $600,000 and moved our client into a group home.

$600,000 recovery - Rape in state institution
A $600,000 settlement was reached for a client who was raped by an employee while a resident in a state developmental center. Our client was also moved from the facility to a group home.

$500,000 recovery - Personal Injury
Our client suffered a broken hip in a collision with a bus when the bus driver failed to yield the right-of-way and made a left hand turn in front of client.
